Abertis is promoting the remodeling and expansion works of the Vallcarca Operational Control Center, which began in January 2023, in Sitges, Barcelona.
The project, designed by Binari Arquitectes, consists of the refurbishment and expansion of an existing toll operations center. The construction includes a 768.90 m2 center divided into three floors.
It will have functional spaces, an office space capable of housing 29 “open space” workstations, another more private office with capacity for 21 workstations, offices and a set of individual spaces for meetings or videoconferences.
CORE has incorporated some of the aspects of its C2R Construction Project Management System allowing for the Project:
i. Updating of the BEP in the construction phase
ii. Development of an as-built model during the construction phase with weekly updates incorporating the changes, data and documentation related to the construction work.
iii. The development of an as-built model as a basis for 2D as-built drawings. These improvements over the usual project management systems have helped to have a true picture of what was executed on site at all times and to shorten the time required to generate as-built documentation.
These improvements over the usual project management systems have contributed to have defined the modeling strategy, digital twin of the executed work, as well as models prepared for the maintenance phase.
